Nighttime view of the lighthouse at Dungeness.

This lighthouse started its operational life in 1961 and was built after the Dungeness Nuclear Power Station obscured the view of the Old Lighthouse, dating from 1904.

The lighthouse is floodlit at night to prevent bird strikes.

This is the fifth lighthouse on the dungeness headland.
